In an era in which digital deception is becoming more sophisticated by the day, one Israeli start-up is taking a bold stand against online impersonation and fraud. Memcyco, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Bnei Brak, has emerged as a global innovator in real-time scam detection and prevention, earning it a coveted spot on Fast Company’s 2025 “Next Big Things in Tech” list.
Founded four years ago by serial Israeli entrepreneur Israel Mazin, whose three-decade career includes founding multiple cybersecurity ventures, Memcyco was born out of a simple but urgent insight: Existing solutions to phishing and impersonation were reactive, slow, and often ineffective.
“We spoke to potential clients and realized they had no real-time protection,” Memcyco CEO Mazin told The Jerusalem Post. “They could detect scams, but they couldn’t stop them fast enough.”
Memcyco’s platform is designed to do exactly that. It delivers real-time, preemptive protection against phishing, digital impersonation, and account takeover fraud, helping companies safeguard their businesses and customers.
Preemptive security
Its preemptive real-time Digital Risk Protection Solution identifies and neutralizes scam attacks, such as fake websites, social engineering, and AI-based phishing-in real time.
The system requires no installation by end-users and integrates seamlessly via API, allowing companies to make time-sensitive decisions to protect their customers and employees before any damage is done. Potential damage can include significant revenue loss, loss of digital trust, higher regulatory risk, and identity theft.
What sets Memcyco apart is its ability to infiltrate the attack itself, gaining real-time visibility into attacker behavior and intent. By doing so, the platform can determine exactly who is being targeted, whether a bank customer, airline passenger, or government employee, and trigger immediate countermeasures. At the same time, Memcyco deploys deceptive techniques within the attack chain to disrupt malicious activity and preempt damage before it occurs.
This proactive, pre-emptive approach has attracted clients from around the world and across sectors, from financial institutions and airlines to government agencies and retail giants.
The company’s technology also addresses the growing threat of generative AI-powered scams. And as phishing attacks increasingly originate from hostile actors in Russia, China, and Iran, among other regions, Memcyco’s offensive cybersecurity stance is more relevant than ever.
According to internal Memcyco research, while 72% of companies have scam detection tools, only 6% feel truly protected. The company’s real-time capabilities are designed to close that gap.
“Hackers are getting smarter,” Memyco Chief Marketing Officer Eran Tsur said, adding, “Scams used to be a black hole, customers didn’t know what hit them. Memcyco changes that by providing visibility and control in real time.”
The company's solution is not only fast, it’s scalable. It can be deployed in minutes and serves small, medium, and large enterprises.
The start-up operates as a US company with an Israeli subsidiary. Mazin explained that Memcyco is aiming for a balanced global footprint: 50% in North America and 50% across Latin America, Europe, APAC, and beyond.
Its $10 million seed round, led by US venture firms Capri Ventures and Venture Guides, is fueling expansion into new markets, along with further development of its solutions.
