Israeli startup Anchor, which develops AI agents that can autonomously perform high-scale organizational tasks directly across the web, has emerged from stealth and announced a $6 million seed round led by Blumberg Capital and Gradient, Google’s AI-focused investment arm known for backing several notable AI ventures (including Roi, the startup acquired earlier this month by OpenAI). Among the company’s prominent backers is Colin Evans, Head of VC and Startup Partnerships at OpenAI.

Founded just a year ago, in October 2024, Anchor already powers tens of millions of AI agents for dozens of paying customers, positioning itself as one of the most innovative players in its domain. In Israel, the company stands out as one of the few startups developing core AI infrastructure technologies, and it has already signed a strategic partnership with Cloudflare, a global leader in web verification and bot-detection services.

Anchor’s founders - Idan Raman (CEO), Dor Dankner (CTO), and Guy Ben-Simhon (VP R&D) - are all veterans of Unit 8200 with deep expertise in cybersecurity, automation, and developer tooling, drawn from prior roles at SentinelOne, Noname Security, and BlinkOps. The Company currently employs nine people at its Tel Aviv headquarters. Proceeds from the round will support the expansion of Anchor’s R&D center in Israel (hiring is already underway)  and fuel go-to-market and sales operations, with a strategic focus on the U.S. enterprise market.

“Agentic AI is only as useful as its ability to act in the real world, and in today’s enterprise, that means acting on the web. Most of the web is still inaccessible to AI because it wasn’t designed for machines. Our mission is to bridge that gap, reliably, securely, and at scale. It amazes us to see how quickly organizations can adopt AI when they focus on making it dead simple - insert AI into existing processes and needs rather than rebuilding the entire org from scratch,” said Raman, Anchor’s CEO and founder.

By 2030, the global market for autonomous AI is expected to reach $70B. Yet, despite the growing reasoning and decision-making capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents still struggle to operate effectively across the open web due to fragile scripts, lack of APIs, and dynamic User Interfaces (UIs). As businesses race to operationalize agentic AI, many implementation efforts fall short because no robust solution has yet addressed this challenge. This is precisely the gap Anchor aims to fill. The Company is among the very few players offering a novel infrastructure platform that transforms any web interface into an intelligent access point for AI systems.

Today, many organizations depend on large outsourced teams to handle simple yet mission-critical online tasks, from filling out government forms and tracking orders to entering data, functions that, until now, have resisted stable, secure, and efficient automation. Anchor’s browser-native AI agent technology delivers full automation for these workflows, marking a major step forward in the evolution of web-based AI agents. The Company’s approach enables enterprises to achieve genuine digital transformation, integrating AI seamlessly into existing operations and generating tangible business value while driving significant cost savings, enhancing efficiency, and boosting overall performance.

The market is already demonstrating trust in Anchor’s approach. In addition to its high-profile investors, the young startup’s customer base includes leading AI-driven companies such as Groq, Unify, and Browser-use. Anchor has also established a series of strategic partnerships with major industry players including Cloudflare, Coinbase, and Groq, spanning domains such as cybersecurity, data infrastructure, and AI-powered development tools.

Bruce Taragin, Managing Director at Blumberg Capital and Board Member at Anchor said that “we were immediately engaged by the Anchor team - not just their technical depth, but their clarity of vision in a fast-emerging space and commercial grit. As AI agents begin to reshape how software is used, Anchor is enabling developers to interact with the web the way humans do and broadening the reach and utility of AI to an unimaginable scale.”
